New HEI350 insert professionally installed 12/12/2023. New 6" insulated stainless steel liner, up the 13 foot chimney, and capped. The initial burn-in went great. The packing of the unit was, acceptable, but not great. The collar that holds the surround together ended up shifting and scraping the paint off one side in one area. The disassembly to get it in the house was very easy and quick. The installation was also easy compared to other industry models. The controls(air damper and fan control) are nice and responsive. The blower fan modules look to be the same as the Osburn branded inserts, and are well designed to be taken off and cleaned regularly. A couple nitpick items in the design... A little bit tighter seal from blower fan to lower ducting might help in pushing more air with less fan control. The air deflector at the top of the firebox could be raised higher to have an even larger view, so less of the glass is impaired. Overall I hope to use this unit for a long time, and I'm confident I made the right decision in choosing this insert.
